The Physical Activity and Nutrition (PAN) program of the ILSI Center for Health Promotion promotes healthful physical activity and proper nutrition through scientific discovery of new knowledge, knowledge dissemination and education, and evaluation of intervention programs.
The development of the PAN program in 1996 was stimulated by an alarming increase in the prevalence of childhood obesity in the United States and around the world. In the past four years, ILSI PAN has played a critical role in educating individuals about childhood obesity and overweight, energy balance, and overweight prevention overweight through good nutrition and physical activity.
